Questions programs ask
Is it free to post a residency or fellowship vacancy?
Yes. Posting a vacancy on ResidencySpot costs nothing: no listing fee, no fee per applicant, and no account to pay for. Programs post for free; applicants who want every program's contact details pay for Premium.
Who sees our contact details?
Signed-in Premium members only. The public page shows the specialty, program year, institution, location, start date and the opening lines of your description. Your email address, phone number and application link are never on a public page, so they cannot be collected from it by spam tools.
How quickly is a vacancy listed?
A person reads every posting before it is listed, usually within one business day. We check that it is a physician residency or fellowship position, that it is open, and that it came from someone who can speak for the program. You get an email the moment it goes live.
Where does a posted vacancy appear?
In the vacancy search, on your specialty's page and your institution's page, and in the alerts of every resident and fellow whose saved search matches it: an instant alert for Premium members and the next morning's digest for free accounts.
How long does a posting stay up, and can we change it?
A posting stays listed for 60 days. A week before that we email you, and one click keeps it up for another 60. You can edit it, mark it filled or take it down at any time from your dashboard; marking it filled stops new applications the same day.
What can't be posted?
Anything that is not physician graduate medical training: attending, locum, nursing, pharmacy, physician assistant and research-only posts. Positions being filled through the NRMP Match or SOAP are not posted while Match Week is under way. And a program's standing recruitment page is not a vacancy: post when a specific place is open.
