Every program in your specialty, best fit first, with the reasons and the program's own sentence under each. Save the ones you'll apply to and practice their interviews.
How the fit is scored
A program that states nothing against you starts at 50. Each thing its website states in your favour adds the points below, scaled to 100. A program that states something against you is set apart as not a fit, with the sentence quoted. Nothing is estimated and nothing is guessed: 3,546 of our programs state a visa or IMG policy today, and every fact carries the date its page was read.
It is not a prediction of matching. It is the honest answer to a simpler question: which programs say they take applicants like me?
| What the program states | Points | Counts for |
|---|---|---|
| Sponsors the visa you need | +30 | International graduates |
| In a state you chose | +20 | Anyone who chose states |
| States it considers international graduates | +15 | International graduates |
| Graduation-year limit you are within, or none | +10 | Everyone |
| USMLE minimum you clear, or none | +10 | Everyone with a score |
| A place open at the institution now | +10 | Everyone, as a bonus |
| First-attempt rule you meet | +5 | Everyone |

Questions about Program Match
What is the fit score?
A number from 50 to 100 built only from what a program's own website states about applicants like you: the visa it sponsors, whether it considers international graduates, its graduation-year limit, its USMLE minimum, its first-attempt rule, plus whether it is in a state you chose and whether a place is open there now. A program that states nothing against you starts at 50; each thing it states in your favour adds points. Every point is listed beside the score, with the sentence it rests on.
Is it a prediction of whether I will match?
No. Nobody has the data to predict that honestly, and a number that pretended to would be made up. The fit tells you which programs say they take applicants like you, which say nothing, and which rule you out, so your application list is built on what programs actually state rather than on guesswork.
Why is a program a possible fit rather than a good one?
Because its website says nothing about your situation. Many programs do not publish a visa policy or a score minimum. Silence is not a refusal, so those programs stay on your list as possible fits, below the ones that state what you need.
Why is a program marked not a fit?
Because its website states something that rules you out: it does not sponsor the visa you need, it does not consider international graduates, its graduation-year limit is one you are outside, its score minimum is above yours, or it requires first-attempt passes you do not have. The sentence is quoted so you can judge it yourself.

Where does the information come from?
From each program's own public web page, read by ResidencySpot and refreshed when the page changes. The date the page was read is shown, and the program's own sentence is quoted under every fact. Your profile is kept in your browser and, if you sign in, in your account; it is never shown to anyone.
