How much does ResidencySpot cost?

What is an off-cycle residency position?
An off-cycle position is a residency or fellowship place that opens outside the NRMP Match, usually because a resident left, transferred or extended training, or because a program added a position. Programs fill these directly and on a rolling basis, often for a start date other than July.
What is the difference between a vacancy and a program on ResidencySpot?
ResidencySpot has two parts. Its vacancy search lists open positions that programs are filling now, usually off-cycle, outside the NRMP Match. Its program directory, which is free, lists residency and fellowship programs, each with a summary, for applicants planning where to apply in the regular cycle.
Can I be told when a new vacancy matches my search?
Yes, for free. Create an account, save a search by specialty, state, track and institution, and we email you a daily digest of the new vacancies that match it. Premium adds an instant alert the moment a matching vacancy is posted, by email or privately to your own Telegram chat.
Are nursing, pharmacy or attending jobs included?
No. Every listing is classified before it is published, and only physician residency and fellowship training is kept. Nursing and pharmacy residencies, physician assistant, dental, PhD and research posts, moonlighting shifts and attending jobs are rejected.
How current are the listings?
Vacancies are collected from specialty societies' vacancy boards and hospital career sites, most of them checked every hour; programs come from graduate medical education program directories, checked once or twice a day. A listing is taken down once its source removes it. A vacancy-list entry is also retired once its application deadline passes or it is more than a year old.
What can I see without paying?
Every vacancy's specialty, track, program year where stated, institution, location, posting date and a short summary, and the program directory with each program's summary. A free account adds saved searches and a daily email of new matching vacancies. Premium adds the full posting, contact details and application link on every vacancy, every program's contact details and official page link, and instant alerts.
Can a program post a vacancy on ResidencySpot?
Yes. Programs can post an open residency or fellowship position on ResidencySpot themselves, for free, at residencyspot.com/post. A person reads every posting before it is listed, and the program is asked to confirm it is still open at least every 60 days. Its contact details are shown to Premium members only, never on a public page.
Can I swap my residency position with another resident?
ResidencySpot runs a free swap board at residencyspot.com/swaps for residents and fellows who want to trade places with someone in the same specialty and program year. A listing shows a specialty, a year and a state and names nobody; two residents are given each other's email address only when both agree to be introduced.
Does ResidencySpot apply to programs for me?
No. ResidencySpot is a listing service, not the employer or the program. You apply directly to the program, using the contact details and link on its listing.
Are programs outside the United States listed?
No. Only residencies and fellowships at teaching hospitals and programs in the United States are listed.
